Did you know? Close to 4.25 million Canadians are affected by Hidden Mobility Disabilities (HMD)? HMD means a person can walk independently, but for no more than a short distance, and they can stand unsupported, but only for a brief time. Despite the number of Canadians affected by HMD, this area of disability is often overlooked. Start-Up Canada Entrepreneurship Census

Start-Up Canada Census! Self-employment and entrepreneurship are viable and valuable employment options for many jobseekers experiencing disability. Please join CASE’s MentorAbility Canada and Innovation Lab initiatives in elevating the contributions of Canadian entrepreneurs who experience disability, entrepreneurs who promote inclusive workplaces and/or those companies that are developing products and services to render Canadian workplaces more inclusive.  Startup Canada has launched their annual Canadian Entrepreneurship Census, and they want to hear from us! From founders to small businesses and entrepreneur support organizations and initiatives; this survey will give you a chance to share your thoughts and experiences over the last year.   By participating, you will be entered for a chance to be featured on the Startup Canada Podcast! Business Leaders for Inclusion Luncheon

Join the Regina Autism Resource Centre for a ‘Business Leaders for Inclusion Luncheon’ where we will be introducing Employers to the  MentorAbility Project, an initiative of the Canadian Association for Supported Employment, to learn how to partner with us to create meaningful mentoring opportunities for people experiencing disabilities to aid in their career exploration journey. We are inviting local Employers to join us for a quick lunch & learn to discover supports & services available when exploring Inclusive and Diverse hiring practices, mentorship, and the many benefits that come with it! This free event is also featuring guest speaker Brenna Steffensen from ‘Ready Willing and Able’ a national partnership of Inclusion Canada, which is designed to increase the labour force participation of people with an intellectual disability or on the autism spectrum by offering resources, hiring support, and ongoing assistance to skilled workers and businesses in need of quality reliable staff.

JobPath

CASE Team

The JobPath workshops are offered for 12 weeks. They aim to empower job seekers to build a career that they love. The workshops are dedicated to job skills, discovery, and exploration by learning through a combination of classroom activities, guest speakers, and community-based experiences. We cover topics such as career goal setting, interview skills, life skills, resume building, job retention, and much more! Upon completion, we will collaborate with the job seekers to find employment or a job-hardening activity such as volunteering.
