City Proclamation: Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM)
DEAM occurs every October to promote inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workforce and to acknowledge their contributions to society. Last year, Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills, officially proclaimed DEAM in the province. This year, the City of St. John’s, in partnership with MentorAbility Canada, will be hosting a proclamation event as an effort to promote awareness and to showcase our commitment to an inclusive society for Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans. ASL Interpreters and the media will be present.
