Memorial University is hosting an online information session on Oct. 20, titled Building Accessibility Confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this session, Dr. Florentine Strzelczyk, provost and vice-president (academic) and Dr. Mullings will each bring remarks in advance of guest speaker Kathy Hawkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms. Hawkins is the manager of Inclusion NL, and of the Employer Supports and Services Program at the Disability Resource Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She provides support and services to employers interested in creating more inclusive workplace environments for employees with multiple types of (dis)abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDuring this session, participants will take home a new perspective for creating accessible spaces and interacting with people with varying types of (dis)abilities,\u201d said Ms. Hawkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe know that accessibility isn\u2019t only for folks with (dis)abilities. Accessibility benefits everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
